Melodie and I are so deep in Musical "to do" lists that we have no time to think about the baby and what changes are taking place. The show is less than 2 two weeks away... so we are practically counting down the days to freedom. =)
As far as changes, I think Melodie may be beginning to show, but she feels no change yet. We have a prenatal appointment on Monday to hopefully reassure ourselves that we are in fact going to have a baby... and it is in fact inside Melodie. =) We'll let you know how it goes.

"How big is it?" - 11 Weeks
Our baby is now an inch and a half long or the size of a more common fruit, a fig. As you can see bones are beginning to harden, hands will begin to open and close into fists, and tooth buds are beginning to grow under its gums.Melodie still feels nothing, but I do notice small changes in her diet and moods. Otherwise, she has yet to have morning sickness and has not become unreasonable. =) Yay!
Melodie being the dancer, it is fitting that babycenter.com describes this age as the baby doing water ballet and already having hiccups from the diaphragm forming.
We appreciate all the comments you have left us so far, and look forward to sharing our journey with all of you. Feel free to let us know of questions you may have, or what you would like to see on this blog.

"How big is it?" - 10 Weeks
So... our baby is the size of a kumquat! .... uh.... umm..... WHAT!
If you're like us... you'll need a little help understanding this... so here it is.

First the kumquat... it is a "small yellow to orange citrus fruit with sweet spongy rind and somewhat acid pulp that is used chiefly for preserves"
Okay....
Now imagine the baby...

The baby pic looks cute... but I am still trying to get past the idea of imaging my baby and a small fruit used as a preservative with THAT NAME! Man... whoever comes up with these things has probably never been pregnant before. I would prefer my child to be the size of a small kiwi, or a clementine! Anyway... thought you'd like to know.

Puffenbarger Skype - Finally!
Tonight we finally got to catch up with the Puffenbargers in South Korea on Skype. We have been longing to tell them in person and couldn't connect when we had hoped. So, our 53 minute conversation tonight was certainly heavenly in terms of needing to see them, talk to them, and pray with them about our pregnancies. They are due in April and are coming home for the summer on June 1st. We can't wait!Thursday, January 14, 2010

Welcome
This site is for family and friends who wish to stay connected during our pregnancy and the first year of our child's life. We hope to share pictures, updates, and questions we're facing during this transitional time. We are excited about the year to come.
